I was born in Iran but we moved as a family to Canada when I was in grade 3 and we became citizens. But as fate would have it, I came to USA for PhD at Stanford University...but now I'm working and staying here. I am pretty much settled and now looking to see if their is a good match out there that would make marriage makes sense for me.
I don't have problem with modern women like my sister and sister-in-law who work outside the home or wear a little makeup...and I don't expect her too be the cook and maid around the house... but in something's I am traditional. Or she can be a stay-at-home wife/mom if that makes her happy.
My family is moderately religious but they took the principles seriously and raised both their daughter AND their sons with these values, including waiting till marriage for halal relationships. They do try to set me up with people, and I always appreciate their help, but so far I haven't met someone that would "feel right" from the people I've met and spoken to; even in the cases where I spent months getting to know a particular person :|. Inshallah kheir, I want to either marry properly or not at all
