Worship Allah Alone and avoid taghut, that's the basic principle of Islam.
Taghut here means everything that is worshipped besides Allah, this is obligatory upon every muslim to know i.e the meaning of shahadah la ilaha il Allah ( لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا ٱلله )
This is also called "al-aslu ad-deen" which means al-asl (the fundament) ad-deen (of the religion)
