came to the US at age 9 from Syria in 1999. Raised in a traditional household although my parents were separated.
I had an extended family so everyone who was older taught me something.
Religions to me growing up was me going to the masjed on my own and feeling spiritually connected.
I moved very close to a masjed because I need Allah in my life more than any other thing.
Don't consider myself a strict follower but my philosophy is that life is short and we have a purpose in it besides working, sleeping and eating. I live a simple lifestyle and have a soft heart for pets and little kids. Things I enjoy are coffee (all kinds), hiking, road trips, nature, travel, reading (Mustafa Mahmoud, Ibn Qayem, Thahabi and others). Thankful for Allah everyday.
