Alhamdulillah I come from a strict, practising family, which means that prayer, hijab etc have been a part of my life from a young age. I have a Masters and am currently working on getting a PhD Inshallah. Professionally, I have been an ESL teacher for 7 years, offering private tuition and teaching in a high school. In addition to working as a teacher, I have also worked as a translator, as I am bilingual in Arabic & English (it helps that I have a basic I-wouldn’t-starve level of French too).
I’m a very outgoing, bubbly person, with a bit of a nerd streak. I have a serious wanderlust, although I haven’t had the opportunity at present to travel (dragging a Mahrem around aint fun!). Coming from a mixed ethnic (European – North African) family background, I don’t really feel that I have any roots anchoring me to any one place.
My hobbies include: watching TV shows & films, reading, knitting & crochet (nothing advanced - it's more a way to be productive whilst watching TV, lol), clothes / fashion, healthy living & exercise (although, if I’m honest, I don’t apply half of what I should), and drinking tea. I’m also really into productivity / pop psychology/sociology subjects.
I hate tidying (I don't mind cleaning, but I hate tidying up), bad manners, cooking (I can cook, but I’d rather save time and make a sandwich. I am no gourmand, lol), and the colour pink.
My aspirations for the future include: having a family, getting a PhD , travelling, becoming a university lecturer and getting published Inshallah.
