Assalamualaikum. My name is Nasreen, a 21 year-old living in Toronto. I am hard-of-hearing in both ears and wear glasses. I am a second generation Canadian. My ethnic roots are mainly from Pakistan, with a bit from Afghanistan. I can understand and speak Urdu.
I am in the process of completing my B.Sc in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. I love exploring the city and appreciating the beauty in design. I am quite shy, but that doesn't mean I have little to say! I enjoy painting, watching action movies, and thinking of ways to improve the world. I am a thinker and an ambitious dreamer. I like to explore the unknown. My mind is very curious. I am a fairly liberal Muslim, but I wholeheartedly practice modesty. I do not wear a hijab due to my hearing aids (worn on both ears). I pray sometimes, but would like to go beyond this. I strongly believe that jihad is a process that grows with sincere intention, focus, and dedication. I strive to improve my deen in every aspect.
A cool thing about me is that I was born premature, at 25 weeks. I weighed 1 pound, 11 ounces (roughly 760 grams). I was actually due in February 2001, but was born in November 2000.
