Assalamu’laikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu,

Despite being born as Muslim, Iman never entered until I reached college, the time when I decided to learn more about the faith I long claimed to believe in. From then on, this Deen became the most important part of my life.

Seeking and applying knowledge has brought me ever closer to Allah. Though limited by the Islamic resources available here in Hong Kong, I still find benefit from the local halaqas conducted by learned people and occasionally by scholars from abroad. To be blessed in the presence of learned scholars is an opportunity, at times, scarcely available. Alhumdulilah many scholars have made available resources online which I try to make good use of.

I see learning a necessary ingredient of growth. People described me to be simple, mature and someone who is an avid learner. I have also been described to be a person who’s encouraging too. I consider myself to be quite a spiritual person, appreciate taking things deeper than surface level. I am also the kind of person who appreciates honest and straightforward conversations. Believers to one another are like mirrors to each other as our prophet SAW told us. A mirror reflection is where beauty is made emphasized and flaws are brought to our awareness. This is something I hope to live by with my future spouse. To be corrected now is better than to be corrected then. I strive to improve. I am in no way a perfect individual, but I strongly believe it's the intention and your effort that follows to reach perfection is what Allah acknowledges. Bithnillah, even if we don’t manage to reach our goal before our soul departs, we would still be rewarded in full. Thus, I am a strong advocate of efforts over results.

I comprehend that this Deen ul Islam is to be understood and practiced in a manner that it was literally intended to be followed. Hence, I adhere to the notions of understanding and practicing Islam in the principles of how they were schooled by our Nabi Muhammad (SAW) and carried through by the earliest three generations. Anything that is not preserved in any authentic sources of Islam I deem to refrain from it in totality thou it may be prevalent in every Muslim society.

I believe in the importance of having the right companionship who will aid or remind one another of the hereafter. There are times, we as human beings will face high and low Iman, to create an environment that supports and remind one another is to best start within a family. That is, in fact, one of my motives for completing the other half of my Deen. To build an environment that serves as a positive wind to everyone inside it, and eventually where people outside of it can benefit from too. Having benefitted from the Islamic atmosphere, I aim to bring this to a wider audience in HK. Thus, the humble effort I currently engage in is volunteering in several Islamic organizations.

I see marriage as a process of building the fundamental block of a society, a process where two individuals decided to take the step of sacrificing some of the habits they are accustomed to, in order to accommodate the other half. Particular for Islamic marriages, it is a marriage where we serve as a garment for one another, in terms of protecting, supporting, encouraging, beautifying, one another’s endeavor to make the most out of our life to come.

More on my background, I am born in Hong Kong and lived my life here since then. I did my bachelor and Master degree in Mechanical engineering at HKU and is currently working as a consultant engineer. I have two more sisters, one working in a profession as a teacher and the other as a quantitative surveyor.
Some of the things I enjoy doing in my free time are photography, reading, going to gyms, and occasional hikes. I usually enjoy eating healthy, preferably natural whole food.

I pray to Allah, that He keep us steadfast on His only accepted path until the day we meet him. May he bless us with a spouse and offspring those are a coolness of our eyes and a source of comfort in this Dunya and the life to come. Ameen
