Apr 7, 2021 11:16 One of the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) reports that after ‘Ali married Fatemah, he wanted to start a married life with her, but the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told him not to do this until he gave her something as a marriage gift. 'Ali said," O Messenger of Allaah, but I have nothing! " And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "Give her your coat of mail." And he gave her his chain mail, and then began a married life with her. A similar hadith is narrated from Ibn‘ Abbas.(Sunan abu Davud) |
