Assalamu alaikum dear visitor,
I thought I would throw a few words to describe what I like to do:
Travel, photography, open places under the wide blue sky, flip flops, last minute plans, Hajj (never been) but also the good ol' Umrah, museums, Islamic history.
Restaurants (… not as good as my mum's food though), watching films, shopping (always visit Primark).
Learn Arabic, listen and reflect over the Qur'an (not great at reciting sadly), attend Islamic talks, helping out at home, getting involved in charitable causes.
I am approximately 69% introvert, 31% extrovert, so the spotlight is really not my friend; I love my mum and my sister (we're a small family), I am an analytical thinker and yearn for retreat once in a while to reflect and realign. Simplicity, respect, sharing and being down to earth are all important to me.
Short list of things I am not really fond of includes:
- Cars (don't know why I put this one first...)
- Superficial people (probably because I'm an introvert)
- Family politics (ah, asians will relate... ps. I do sometimes feel obliged to get involved to protect those I love)
- Being too involved in work/ socialising etc... that I forget the simple things in life
The grumpy but important stuff
We're a small family, and we're not well-off. We live in a cosy flat together, I am in my final year of my Engineering studies at the Oxford University. I have no debt because I miraculously got a scholarship (Alhamdulillah). I am hopeful for a bright, stable future and trust in Allah to provide for us as He has in the past.
What I can try to offer?
Love, commitment, support, fun and to accompany you in this beautiful journey of life.
