Assalamu’alikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Talking about myself is not easy, since I am still in the process of discovering and understanding myself. We all are, in a way. So that would be a good start- I am very introspective. Extremely so. I like thinking. I am always trying to be on the road of self-discovery and improvement, Alhamdulillah.

Next would be the essence of my character- I am a very passionate person. And Alhamdulillah, my biggest passion is Allah’s deen. Living it, breathing it and spreading it. May Allah always make it so. My biggest desire is to *achieve* the actual state, the feeling of loving that which Allah loves and hating that which He hates. I am still doing my jihad-un-nafs for achieving that…and in sha Allah till I breathe my last that would be my desire.

All other desires and dreams are based on this basic one.
I have always been a very idealistic person; and my idealism is further fueled by this wonderful ayah from Suratul Mulk: “He created lifelessness and life to see which of you is *best* in deeds”.
So Allah wants us to be the best of the best. Although I understand my limitations, and the practical element of life and I am still trying to strike a balance between my idealism and practicality that is required for day-to-day activities, I am a dreamer.
“The best of you is the one who benefits mankind”
“The best of you is the one who studies the Qur’an and teaches it to others.”
These two sayings of the Prophet (pbuh) have contributed to two of my biggest dreams- That of studying and immersing myself in the Qur’an in-depth and helping others do the same. And that of using every inch of talent and resources that Allah has blessed me with for the benefit of His deen, the ummah and the world in general.
I am an avid reader, and would like to make some contribution in the blogging scene; And in sha Allah make use of my technical skills for benefiting the ummah. (These are all works in progress…)
I am also very much looking forward to motherhood, and raising children who loves Allah’s deen and grow up to contribute to it in their own unique ways; through whom Allah creates a generation of righteous Muslims who are a boon to the world. In sha Allah.

I am not trying to say I am a perfectionist- or am perfect- My
ideals are high and I may not come anywhere near them yet-but I have come to understand through the wisdom of people who have influenced me, that it’s only if you aim to be the first you’ll at least be the second, or the third…or maybe even pass! If you aim to just pass; if you don’t, you fail!

I end with the clichéd -but a very true observation:
Only one chance; let’s make the best of it, in sha Allah.
