Assalamalaikum
Marriage is beautiful. To spend your life with someone that nurtures you and helps you grow is the epitome of of a good marriage. That's what I intend on doing. To help whoever I am with be the best version of herself. In return I expect her commitment, loyalty and love. The point of it all is to help each other build a home that is more than just a house, bricks and mortar. A home of warmth, encouragement and understanding.
Here are some Islamic verses in regards to marriage:
“And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”
(Surah Ar-Rum, 30:21)
“Your spouses are a garment for you as you are for them”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:187)
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The believers who show the most perfect Faith are those who have the best behaviour, and the best of you are those who are the best to their wives". - Riyad as-Salihin 278 [Authorities, who categorized it as Hadith Hasan Sahih].
Abu Hurayrah said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a woman prays her five (daily prayers), fasts her month (Ramadaan), guards her chastity and obeys her husband, it will be said to her: ‘Enter Paradise from whichever of the gates of Paradise you wish.’” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 660.
Ultimately marriage should be a collaboration. Allah has told us the roles of a man and a woman in a marriage. Both roles have differences but ultimately the end goal is to run a cohesive family that can get to Jannah in sha Allah.
Hobbies that I enjoy include reading, writing, Wrestling, BJJ, Boxing and Thai Boxing. I also enjoy helping others via philanthropic means and I do this through a charity as well as my own volition.
