And for someone looking foe marriage to a practising Muslim, its difficult to really figure out that.
You need to meet him in person and really get to know him.
Now, been in the West doesn't really matter because Islam is everywhere and therr are very good practicing Muslims everywhere too.
Men who are always open to learning more about the deen in order to stay in the right path and don't fall into the groups of the ones who misunderstand the teachings of Islam.
The internet can't give you half of that.
You were not precise about your location in the west. I would have written some names. Names of certain imams or names of some of their masjids and so on.
They help in such cases.
You attend seminars, classes and so on,they tell you the habits of the men around there and they make it easier for you to choose.
Non the less, you can just find a masjid around you.
An openly run masjid,find the imam, talk to him about your situation.
What the imams usually do is that, they gather a couple of men they trust. Men who are single too and have a job. They tell them about you and set a meeting with your permission and his
If you happen to like each other. Fine.
Or they send you to the women side of the masjid and prefer you to them so that you will feel comfortable talking about it.
Just get to a masjid and find the imam.They will take care of the rest.
